Jasper P. Stamps, age 77, of Claremore and former Skiatook resident, passed away at his home surrounded by his family Thursday, December 7, 2017.
Jasper was born March 30, 1940 in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Clyde and Kelelah (Agnew) Stamps. Jasper grew up and received his education in Skiatook graduating with the Class of 1959. Jasper also attended Tulsa University. Jasper married Ila Jean Lorton on April 22, 1960 in Tulsa making their home in Skiatook until recently moving to Claremore to be closer to their family. Jasper was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone for 32 years when he retired in 1993. Jasper liked fishing, cooking and spending time with his grandkids.
Jasper was preceded in death by his mother and father: Kelelah and Clyde Stamps, two brothers and by two sisters.
Jasper is survived by his wife Ila Jean Stamps, children: Tony Stamps, Lori Griffith and Lana Harrell, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family of Jasper Stamps entrusted his care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
