James Rodney Zingerman, 78, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, went home to be with his Lord on February 24, 2015.
James was born in New York City on May 22, 1936. He graduated from Evangel High School and continued on to receive a Biology Degree from New York University. During the summer he worked as a lifeguard and was the New York City champion in the backstroke in 1954.
James was married to Benita V. Zingerman (Jeremics) on Jan 30, 1960. They met while they were both working in a research lab and enjoyed 55 years together.
James worked at IBM as an engineering manager for 25 years. In retirement they purchased an apple orchard in Selah, Washington, which he farmed for 13 years before moving to Skiatook, OK in 2005. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family on the lake. He was a dedicated member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Skiatook.
James is survived by his two children, James Peter Zingerman and his wife Linda of Selah, WA, Scott Randolph Zingerman and his wife Lisa of Owasso; his 4 grandchildren Jordan and his wife Kelsey, Aaron, Scott Andrew and Jenna; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Mari and Nils Zingerman; as well as his sisters, Mari and Aleda, brother Bryant and twin brother Joel, whose death preceded James by exactly one month. He is also preceded in death by his son, Bruno.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the benevolence fund of Lakeview Baptist Church, Skiatook, Oklahoma in James’ honor.
