James Robert Austin Sr.

James Austin Sr., age 74, of Claremore went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, June 4, 2022 in Owasso, Oklahoma.

James was born October 25, 1947 in Haileyville, Oklahoma to George Elmer and Agnus Lee (Millhollin) Austin. He grew up and received his education in Salina, Oklahoma and graduated from Salina Highschool in 1966. On November 20, 1965 James married Phyllis Ann Daniels in Pryor, Oklahoma and they made their home in Skiatook and Claremore. James was a welder fitter for Axh Air-Coolers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

James was preceded in death by his wife: Phyllis Ann Austin, parents: Agnus and George Austin, brothers: Wayne Austin, Gerald Austin, Cecil Austin, Marvin Austin sisters: Francis Benson, Carol Payton, and Shirley Reynolds.

James is survived by his children: Diane Mayberry, Robert Austin, David Austin, brothers: Morris Austin, Eddie Austin, sisters: Gene Husky, Linda Sutherland, grandchildren: Jennifer, James, Chris, Cory, Ashley, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family of James Austin Sr. entrusted his care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
