Jackelin Fay (Oliphant) Chastain

Jackelin Fay Chastain was born on December 31st, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Dale Ivan Oliphant and Nora Fay (Orton) Oliphant. She graduated from McLain High School in 1971. After graduation, she moved to Skiatook and started a career in public service where her love and drive for helping people made her very successful in her work with the police dispatch and ambulance service. Her success with the ambulance service lead to a position as the director of the program. During this time, she reconnected with an old friend from high school and married James Chastain on June 6th, 1996. After retiring from the ambulance service, she continued to help others by accepting a position with Francis Streidel Nursing home. She moved from there to Baptist Village where she was the office manager for several years, bringing light and laughter to those around her. Her spare time was filled with nights of bingo, bunco with her girlfriends, and doting on her grandchildren.

Jackie was preceded in death by her father and mother, brothers Larry and Walter, and sisters Elaine and Sheila.

Jackie is survived by her husband Jim; children, son Jason Mead of Tulsa, and daughter DeAyn Flores and husband Andrew of Sand Springs, stepson Justin Chastain and wife Stefanie of Broken Arrow; and grandchildren, Brookelyn, Braylon, and Brody Flores and Colton Chastain, as well as several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
