Memorial services for Jack Theodore “Jackie” Gideon will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015 in the Avant Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Grounds, officiating. Private family interment to be held.
Jack Theodore “Jackie” Gideon, age 64, of Skiatook, died at 11:54 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at his Skiatook residence.
Jack was born November 2, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to George Robert and Norma Ann (Walker) Gideon. Jack grew up and received his education in Skiatook graduating in 1969. Jack also attended N.E.O. and Okmulgee Tech. where he went on a Basketball scholarship. Jack entered into the United States Navy in 1970 and received his honorable discharge in 1972. Jack married Jodelle Hughes on March 25, 1970 in Skiatook where they had made their home. On October 7, 1995 Jack married Karen Elizabeth Harrald in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and made their home in Skiatook since that time. Jack worked as a Sales project Manager holding various different positions and was currently employed with The Harker Group where he was Vice President of Operations. Jack loved bluegrass music and was an accomplished mandolin, fiddle and guitar player. He shared his passion for music by teaching pupils young and old. Jack was a part of many bluegrass bands and founded and recorded with Country jam. He enjoyed many years of fishing with friends and family at Grand lake.
Jack was preceded in death by his father.
Jack is survived by his wife: Karen, his mother Norma Gideon, children: Holly Michele Rehberg, Brandon George Gideon, Kalen Mendenhall and Darcy “Mo” Mendenhall, brother: Donald Gideon, four grandchildren.
Music for the services will be “Mansion Over The Hilltop”, “Far Side Banks Of Jordan” and “Darkest Hour”. Music for the services will be performed by: Lucy Weberling, Patricia Webster and Jamie Porter.
Memorial services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
