Irl Lee Collins

Irl Lee Collins, age 71, of Skiatook went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in Tulsa.

Irl was born May 22, 1949 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Richard Lee and Velma (Franks) Collins. Irl grew up and received his education in Ponca City, Oklahoma, graduating in 1967. He also attended NCO in Tonkawa and UCO in Edmond where he received his bachelors degree in Commercial Art. He served in the military from 1969 to 1981 in the Air Force, ROTC, 2nd Lieutenant in the Army as a tank commander, and the Oklahoma National Guard. On June 13, 1969 Irl married Carol Ann Hill in Biloxi, Mississippi where he was stationed in the Air Force. They also made their home in Tampa, Florida, Ponca City, Edmond, and Tulsa before moving to Skiatook in 1999. He was self-employed doing road work and was a current owner of a  boat and RV storage. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Irl enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Irl was preceded in death by his mother and father: Velma and Richard.

Irl is survived by his wife: Carol, children: Lori Ann (Collins) Brandt and husband Brent, Brenda Lee (Collins) Womack and husband Mike, sisters: Carol Fairhurst and husband Dave, Lorna Mercer and husband Lane, Connie Smith and husband Joe, grandchildren: Trevor Womack, Reece Womack, Collin Brandt, Lydia Grace Brandt, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family of Irl Collins entrusted his care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
