Henry Etta Branson
Funeral services for Henry Etta Branson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 at the First Baptist Church West Rogers Campus with Scott Neighbors, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Henry Etta Branson, age 83, of Skiatook, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Senior Star at Woodland Terrace in Tulsa.
Henry Etta was born January 22, 1932 in Wickes, Arkansas to John Henry and Georgia (Taylor) Rose. Henry Etta graduated from the Cashion High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 1954. She married Robert Bruce Branson in 1954 and began her teaching career in Red Rock, Oklahoma the same year. Henry Etta moved to Skiatook in 1966 where she started teaching in the Skiatook Public Schools from 1966 until she retired in 1994. Henry Etta moved to Tulsa in 2014 where she resided at the Senior Star at Woodland Terrace. Henry Etta was a member of the First Baptist Church and Oklahoma Educators Association.
Henry Etta was preceded in death by her mother and father, her aunt and uncle who raised her after her mother's death, Mary Elizabeth (Lowrey) and Roy Lee Rose, and by one brother, Jimmy Dale Rose.
Henry Etta is survived by her one daughter: Karen Rose Branson Tankersley and husband Bill, three grandchildren: Robert Wesley Tankersley, William Earl Tankersley IV and wife Kaimee, and Charles Edward Tankersley and wife Brooke, two great grandchildren: Teagan Nicole Tankersley and Kasen Tankersley and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will include: “Softly and Tenderly”, “Amazing Grace” and “Blessed Assurance”. Music will be performed by Matt Neighbors Kelly Zodrow.
Casket escorts for the services will be: Robert Tankersley, William Tankersley III, William Tankersley IV, Charles Tankersley, CH Whiteman and Bob Branson.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
