Hank Bird, born on October 26, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, to Charles William and Yvonne (LaGranduer) Bird, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. He lived a storied life defined by dedication to family, community service, and a commitment to his career.

Hank graduated from Abington High School in Abington, PA. and furthered his education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. His professional journey began with meaningful roles in law enforcement, serving as a police officer in both Florida and Shawnee, OK. He later took on the position of Director of Human Resources at Buckeye Pipeline Company, where he contributed significantly to the workplace environment and the welfare of its employees.

On August 28, 1976, Hank married Betty Ann Burrows in Wilbur By The Sea, Florida. They built their lives together in various locations including Florida, Shawnee, Oklahoma, Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Topton, Pennsylvania, before finally settling in Skiatook, Oklahoma in 2000. Together, they nurtured a family that embraced the values of hard work and community involvement.

Outside of his professional life, Hank was deeply engaged in the Boy Scouts, dedicating time and effort to positively influence the youth in Pennsylvania and Oklahoma. His love for family extended beyond his immediate household; he treasured moments spent fishing with his brothers, which created lasting memories and ties that would be cherished forever.

Hank is survived by his beloved son, Charles Ross Bird, and daughter-in-law, Jana Birdova. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Emma Yvonne Bird and Victoria Rose Bird, along with his two brothers, William Morgan Bird and Charles LaGranduer Bird. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who were touched by his kindness and spirit.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Yvonne Bird.

Hank Bird’s legacy will endure through the lives he touched, the family he adored, and the community he served diligently throughout his life. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered for the love and laughter he brought to those around him.
