Funeral services for Helen Ruth Thomas will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Nielsen officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Helen Ruth Thomas, age 69, of Skiatook, went to be with her Lord at 6:55 a.m. Sunday, November 3, 2013 at her Skiatook Residence.

Helen was born October 24, 1944 to James and Pauline (Lynch) Bordwine in Collinsville, Oklahoma. Helen grew up and received her education in Collinsville graduating in 1962. Helen went to work immediately out of high school working for Verdigris Valley Electric Co-Op, she met Leon Thomas and they were married November 27,1963 in the Chouteau Baptist Church, the Happy Couple settled in Skiatook and started a family, Helen went to work for Warren Petroleum in Tulsa, later she worked for Warehime Accounting Services in Skiatook she also worked for Supernaw Indian Store and the Exchange Bank, and Benson Lumber Company retiring in 1987. Helen continued to do taxes for family and friends.


Helen is survived by her husband Leon of Almost 50 years , One son; Michael Thomas and ex wife Tammy Thomas of Wichita, KS, step daughter; Leacia Marie Hisley and Spouse (Keith) of Cleveland OK, Brother; Donald Bordwine and spouse (Frankie) of Collinsville OK, Two sisters; Mary Ridenhour of Claremore, Susan McGlamery and spouse (Bruce) of Winter Springs, FL., Grandchildren; Holly, Jake, and Luke Thomas of Wichita, KS, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Helen was preceded in Death by her Parents.

Music for the service: Just As I Am, In The Garden, and Amazing Grace.


Funeral services and interment will be under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
