Funeral services for Harriet Jane McKinley will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Linda Grounds, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

She passed into the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ on July 2, 2016 in Decatur, Texas.

Harriet Jane (Converse) McKinley was born October 27, 1937 in Eskridge, Kansas to Merle
Warren Converse and Nellie Pearl (Hunt) Converse. Jane was the youngest of nine children.

She graduated from Eskridge High School in 1955. Jane caught the eye of Kenneth Loren
"Mac" McKinley when he was working at the grain elevator in Eskridge just a couple blocks from
her home. They were married April 21, 1957 at Eskridge United Methodist Church. Early in their
marriage, both Jane and Kenneth attended Kansas State University while living in Manhattan,
Kansas. After Jane graduated from KSU with a Bachelor of Arts in English they moved to
Skiatook, Oklahoma for Kenneth to attend Spartan Aeronautical School in Tulsa. They made
their home in the Skiatook area with their five children, Kelly, Kent, Kirk, Kerry, and Kamille.
Jane went to work at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1973 and worked there as
a monitor technician until her sudden illness in 2011. Jane was a member of Avant United
Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McKinley; son, Kent McKinley; parents,
Merle and Nellie Converse; brothers Harry Converse and Verne Converse; sisters, Betty Ann
(Converse) Ennis, Faye (Converse) Brown, Ruth (Converse) Turnbull and Ramona (Converse)
Warren.

She is survived by her sister, Virginia (Converse) Bohn of Topeka, Kansas; brother,
Edward Converse of Helotes, Texas; children, Kelly McKinley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Kirk
McKinley of Skiatook, Oklahoma; Kerry (McKinley) Roper of Paradise, Texas; Kamille
(McKinley) Oleson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Korrie McKinley, Kenny McKinley, Kris
McKinley, Megan (McKinley) Slaughter, Ellen Pettigrew, Shelby (Roper) Hendrix, Jarrett Roper,
Shannon Roper, and Michael Oleson; and eight great grandchildren.
