Gwenevieve Jean “Gwen” Kennedy

Funeral services for Gwen Kennedy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Skiatook Assembly Of God Church with Pastor Robert Lokey, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Gwen Kennedy, age 83, of Skiatook, died at 3:53 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Gwen was born March 13, 1933 at Wildhorse/Skiatook, Oklahoma to Willie Logan and Martha Bell (Peters) Wolfe. Gwen married Wayne Dale Kennedy on August 17, 1957 in Skiatook where she had continued to make her home. Gwen was employed with the Exchange Bank where she was a bookkeeper for 39 years. Gwen liked working puzzles, playing dominoes and working word search games. Gwen was a member of the Skiatook Assembly Of God Church.

Gwen was preceded in death by her mother and father and by three sisters.

Gwen is survived by her daughter: Darla Laner and husband Rick of Stillwater, two grandchildren: Brooke Chyzy and husband Ryan and Brittney Laner, two great grandchildren: Tatum Chyzy and Kennedy Chyzy, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services will be: “He Touched Me” performed by Diana Lokey and “I Sure Miss You” performed by the Ellis Family.

Casket escorts for the services will be: Rick Laner, Ryan Chyzy, Cory Justice, David Ellis, Brady Ellis, David Logan Ellis and Joe Green.

Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
