Glendell Marie Brown, affectionately known as Glendell to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, in Owasso, Oklahoma. Born on October 18, 1933, in Jenks, Oklahoma, to Howard Glenn and Doris C. (Crow) Pasley, Glendell's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and spirited community involvement that touched many hearts.
Glendell grew up in the close-knit community of Jenks, where she received her education and graduated in 1951. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Kenneth Leon "Peck" Brown, on October 26, 1951. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, making their home in Jenks, Tulsa, and eventually settling in Skiatook in 1968. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when she opened and operated Glendell's Fashion Wear, a boutique in Skiatook, from the early 1970s until her retirement in 1993. Her flair for fashion and warm customer service made her boutique a beloved fixture in the community. Glendell's dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her family and friends. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Skiatook, Glendell's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Glendell's zest for life was infectious. She had a passion for square dancing that would light up any room, and her Bunco nights were filled with laughter and camaraderie. An avid gardener, Glendell spent countless hours tending to her flower garden, creating a vibrant oasis that reflected her love for beauty and nature. Her joy for watching birds was a tranquil pastime that brought her much peace. Above all, Glendell cherished the time spent with her family. She was the matriarch who provided guidance and love in abundance.
Though preceded in death by her parents, Howard Glenn and Doris C. Pasley, her beloved husband, Kenneth "Peck" Brown, and her brother, Lewis "Buzzy" Pasley.
Her legacy of love lives on through her children, Theresa Partee and her husband Brent, and Kendell Brown and his wife Debbie. Glendell was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren, Chase Cavitt and wife Heather, Kyle Cavitt and wife Keara, and Brittani Cushman and husband Travis, and doted on her four great-grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who were blessed to know her.
Glendell's life was a testament to the power of kindness, hard work, and the joy of living each day to the fullest. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. As we bid farewell to Glendell Marie Brown, we celebrate a life well-lived and a woman well-loved. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all.
