Memorial services for Glen Paul Gentry will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Avant Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Grounds, officiating. Private family interment will be held.

Glen Paul Gentry, age 84, of Avant, died peacefully at 2:40 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. John Medical center in Tulsa surrounded by his loving family.

Glen was born August 15, 1931 in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Joe Dean and Naomi Ruth (Griggs) Gentry. Glen grew up and received his education in Skiatook and Avant graduating in 1949. Glen married Pat Gipson on April 11, 1952 in the Avant Methodist Church and they made their home in Avant most of their married lives. Glen entered into the United States Army in 1952 and received his honorable discharge in 1954. Glen had worked for Great Lakes pipeline, Bareco and for Williams Pipeline where he was a purchasing agent. Glen was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Skiatook Masonic Lodge for 54 years. Glen was also a member of the Avant Methodist Church for over 65 years.

Glen was preceded in death by his mother and father and by one brother.

Glen is survived by his wife: Pat of the home, three daughters: Cindy Townley and husband Joe, Paula Gentry and Liz Klawitter and husband John, three grandchildren: Gentry Klawitter, Allie Klawitter and Colt Townley, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in the memory of Glen Paul Gentry, those who wish to contribute in Glen’s memory may do so to the  United Methodist Church - Avant P.O. Box 25 Avant, OK 74001.

Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
