Gerry Lee Jones

Gerry Lee Massey Jones of Perkins, OK passed away on June 11, 2023 at The Journey Home in Bartlesville, OK.  Gerry was born in Drumright, OK on December 4, 1934 soon after her birth her parents moved to Avant, OK where they lived for the rest of their lives.  Gerry attended school all the way through High School in Avant graduating from Avant High School in 1952.

Gerry worked in downtown Tulsa and met the love of her life, Floyd R Jones whom she married on October 9, 1957 they were together until 1970 and then 20 years later remarried and were together until Floyd passed away in 2007.

Gerry and Floyd moved to the Drumright area early in their marriage and then to Stillwater where she attended and worked for OSU graduating with an Accounting Degree in 1973.

During her time in Stillwater Gerry joined a singles group who became her adopted family.  The singles group was together for over four decades and up until December still had a group of ladies who met weekly to play cards.

Gerry was a member of Town & Gown Theatre and was in many productions over the years. She loved jewelry and purses and collected both.  In her college years she won Arm Wrestling challenges against many men and after college she won trophies for sharp shooting.  She could beat almost everyone in Scrabble and she would write poetry for many in the community for birthdays, retirements, or just because.

There will be a graveside service to honor Gerry on Sunday, June 18th, at 3:00pm at the Oakdale Cemetery in Depew, OK.
