Funeral services for Gene Barlow will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Skiatook Assembly Of God Church with Pastor Eddie McElhannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Gene was born July 2, 1941 in Okesa, Oklahoma to Grover Talmadge and Mildred (Dale) Barlow. Gene grew up and received his education in Sperry where he graduated in 1959. Gene served his country in the United States National Guard. Gene married Joyce Lynn Shelton on May 25, 1963 in Skiatook where they have made their home since that time. Gene was a Quality Control Inspector for Automation Industries for 12 years, Taylor Precision Manufacturing for 15 years and was a Security Guard for Owl Night Security for 7 years. Gene loved spending time with his family and spoiling the grandchildren. Gene will be missed by all who knew him.

Gene was preceded in death by his mother and father and by one brother Phillip Barlow.

Gene is survived by his wife: Joyce Lynn, children: Daniel Gene Barlow and wife Pamela and Steven Dale Barlow, 1 sister: Claudine Vail, 1 brother: Jim Barlow, four grandchildren: Megan Webb, Lauren Hillsberg, Garrett Barlow and Hannah Barlow, two great grandchildren: Myla Webb and Brynlee Hillsberg, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services will be: “Amazing Grace”, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beautiful Flowers That Won’t Decay.”

Pallbearers for the services are: Joshua Hillsberg, Wayne Barlow, David Webb, Gary Vail, Mickey Ridenour and Virgil Mitchell.

The family of Gene Barlow entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
