Floyd Melvin “Pat” Jolley
Memorial services for Pat Jolley will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Butler officiating.
Pat Jolley, age 71, of Skiatook, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 at his Skiatook residence.
Pat was born March 17, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Homer Melvin and Margaret Lucille (Bottoms) Jolley. Pat grew up and received his education in Skiatook where he graduated in 1966. Pat also served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969 when he received his honorable discharge. Pat married Vicky Gaynor September 29, 1993. Pat was employed for a pipeline company where he was a side boom operator. Pat was always lending a helpful hand to those who needed help whether it was rototilling a garden spot or loaning money. As a young man Pat hauled hay and raised a few small calves. He helped his dad around the farm and anything else that needed to be taken care of. When Pat was 16 he went out on his first pipeline job as a laborer. Later his brother Jack taught him how to run a side boom. It has been told by many of his fellow side boom operators that Pat was the best operator they had worked with. Pat was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 234. In the 1980’s Pat moved to Alaska to work in a Goldmine, yes he found gold of course it all went to the mine owners. He later started working on the pipeline and worked on the North Slope. Pat loved Alaska, the beautiful land, the fishing and hunting and he met a lot of interesting people. Pat traveled to and worked in most states in the lower 48. Saw a lot of beautiful country and worked with a lot of good ole boys along the way.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Deloris Gilbert, brothers; Jack Jolley and Joe Jolley.
Pat is survived by his wife of 25 years Vicky Jolley, daughters; Stephanie McDowell of Austin, Texas and Heather Gaynor of Claremore, son; Heath Gaynor of Skiatook, brothers; Johnny Jolley of Skiatook and Larry Jolley of Skiatook, grandchildren; Tyler Lynch, Corey, Chelsea and Colton Gaynor many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
