Floyd Brinton Ingram
Funeral services for Floyd B. Ingram will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Garfield Clarke, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Floyd was born July 1, 1920 in Wellston, Oklahoma to Gerald Leo and Crettie Beatrice (Brown) Ingram. Floyd grew up and received his education in California and Yale, Oklahoma. Floyd entered into the United States Army on June 5, 1944. Floyd received the following awards during his service: Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic – Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 bronze service stars, World War II Victory Medal, Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII and Marksman Badge with rifle bar. June 29, 1944 Floyd was injured in combat and received his honorable discharge on November 30, 1945. Floyd married Mary Pearlene Holt on June 1, 1968 in Nowata making their home in Skiatook. Floyd was employed with South Western Bell Telephone in Yale, Stillwater and Skiatook retiring after working over 35 years. Floyd liked fishing and working with cattle.
Floyd was preceded in death by his mother and father, wife Mary Pearlene Ingram, son: Tommie Ingram and by two brothers.
Floyd is survived by his four children: Neil Ingram, Janice Hudgens, Gerald “Pete” Ingram and Donna Cook, step-daughter: Mary Anderson, one brother: Omar Ingram, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Kenneth Wise, Raymond Cook, Gary Nail, Justin Anderson, Larry Castleberry Jr. and Sam Bradley.
