Eugene C Smith Sr.

Eugene Curtis “Gene” Smith” age 69 of Collinsville went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, June 6, 2020 in Collinsville.

Gene was born July 11, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ronald and Betty Louise (Hart) Smith. Gene went to the Oklahoma Military Academy in 1962 to 1965 in Claremore.  Gene grew up and received his education in Ethiopia where he graduated in 1968. Gene married Lelia R. Herringshaw in 1971. In 1981 he married Sara Elizabeth Hodges. Gene was a Corporate Pilot for GCPS. Gene had also been a welder at Unit Rig, Williams Company where he was a Inspector over pipelines. Gene loved flying, camping, tubing, going to car shows, and fishing.

Gene was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Ronna Burnett also known as “Sis”.

Gene is survived by his sons; David Smith, Little Gene Smith Jr., Shannon Smith and Zach Smith, one sister; Cherry “Sugar” Johnson, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, companion Ann Talbott, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family of Gene Smith entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
