Funeral services for Eric Doy Raines will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Moss, officiating. Private family interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Eric D. Raines, age 49, of Skiatook, died unexpectedly at 8:09 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at his Skiatook residence.
Eric was born November 10, 1964 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Doy and Carolyn Jean (Neely) Raines. Eric grew up and received his education in Skiatook graduating in 1983. Eric also attended Wesleyan University, TCC and completed his education at Oklahoma University graduating with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Eric married Cathy Joan Sodergren on July 14, 1984 in Skiatook where they have continued to make their home. Eric was employed with AEP/PSO twenty six years ago where he started out working in the Call Center and continuing to work up into management. Eric loved to do yard work, researching, reading, was a history buff, was passionate about teaching and music. Eric was going to become a board member for the Emergency Infant Services, tutored through the Tulsa Library Literacy program and was a member of the Tulsa Bible Church.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Eric is survived by his wife; Cathy of the home, three son’s; Brinton Raines United States Air Force, Connor Raines and Noah Raines both of the home, parents; Doy and Carolyn Raines of Skiatook, two sisters; Janette Ramsey of Sand Springs and Anette Blakeman of Skiatook and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be; “My Child Is Coming Home” and “I Shall Not Want".
Casket escorts for the services will be; Brinton Raines, Connor Raines, Noah Raines, Bryan Rozell, Brinton Skalnik and Chris Asher.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
