Ellen Spurgeon Allen, age 91, of California, died Saturday, October 17, 2015 in California at her residence.
Ellen was born May 27, 1924 in Skiatook, Oklahoma. She grew up and received her education in Collinsville. Ellen married Jack N. Allen in April of 1941. They were married 32 years when he preceded her in death on August 10, 1983. Ellen graduated from Fresno, California with a degree in early childhood education in 1975.
Ellen was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband, 2 brothers: Paul Spurgeon (infant), Chester C. Spurgeon and by 1 sister: Ooweetha Hays.
Ellen is survived by her four children:
Jack N. Allen Jr., of California,
Michael Y. Allen his 3 children: Jack Allen, Joanna Allen Delorme (great grandchild Simon Allen) and Jamie Allen all of California,
Patricia Gazda of California
Jessetta K. Joswick, husband David S. Joswick, and her 2 children: Allen D. Joswick and Janelle A. Joswick all of Springfield, Missouri,
Brother: Odis Greece Jr. of Tulsa and
Sister: Marbecka Bond of Skiatook.
Memorial services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
