A Rosary for Edward Allen “Ed” Harper will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. Private family interment will be held.

Edward Allen “Ed” Harper, age 80, of Skiatook, died at 10:29 p.m. Thursday, November 26, 2015 at his Skiatook residence.

Ed was born August 24, 1935 in Fairfax, Oklahoma to Arthur and Harriett Nell (Cadenhead) Harper. Ed grew up and received his education in Skiatook graduating in 1954. Ed entered into the United States Army Special forces 82nd Airborne in 1953 served through 1957 when he received his honorable discharge. Ed continued in the reserves until 1976. Ed married Madeline Amada Perez on October 7, 1962 in Commerce, California and made their home in Walnut , California until moving back to Oklahoma in 1974. Ed was employed with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) from 1961 until retiring in 1986. Ed liked fishing, hunting and tinkering. Ed was a member of the LAPD Drill Team, MMOC, American Legion, Masonic Lodge and the Elks Lodge.

Ed was preceded in death by his mother and father, one brother Leon and by two sisters: Carolyn and Ginger.

Ed is survived by his wife: Madeline of the home, five children: Paul Arthur Harper, Martin Edward Harper, Roxanne Camille Dennen, Molly Terese Henry and Bernadette Nell Berzofsky, seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Rosary and Cremation services are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
