Donald Lee O’Rourke was born December 7, 1929 in Cushing Oklahoma. He is survived by his three children Michael, Sharon and Melody his 6 grandchildren Justin, Brandon, Katie, Ryan, Ashley and Kyle and his two great grandchildren Abigail and Dylan.
He graduated from Cushing High School and went into the Navy at 22 years old. He served his country in the Korean War and honorable discharged as an Assistant DISCH Officer. He married Shirely Porter on February 7, 1954. The story is told that he went up to here in his sailor outfit and told her that he had been around the world twice in row boat looking for her. After being married he spent 15 years as a pipe liner where he traveled the world having Michael and Sharon while they lived in Cananda. Melody their late surprise in life was born in Oklahoma. The family lived in Holland while the kids were still in elementary school. They were able to travel to Ireland and England and enjoy the country side. It seemed that he had been to most of countries in world and if asked where he would want to go back to he would always answer “Ireland”.
He then quit the pipe line business and drove the truck until he was forced into retirement by a stroke at 6x. He spent the last 10 years of his life in Fort Lupton, Co. He passed away August 6th, 2013 at the age of 83 with his family around.
