Donald Rayner Julien
Donald Rayner Julien, age 80, of Nowata, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, December 12, 2019 in Tulsa.
Don was born December 4, 1939 in Los Angeles, California to Carroll Rayner and Helen Lorene (Metcalf) Julien. Don grew up and received his education in La Puente, California where he graduated in 1957. Don also attended Citrus College in West Covina, California where he received his Associates Degree. Don served his country while in the United States Air Force. Don married Leta Joe Ann Bennett on July 30, 1959 in Denver, Colorado making their home in Oceanside, California until moving to Oklahoma in 2001. They have made their home in Nowata since 2003. Don had been employed with Lucky’s Grocery Store in California where he was a produce manager. Don was also employed with Reasor’s where he worked in produce. Don loved to play Texas Hold’ Em and Chess.
Don was preceded in death by his mother and father, one half-sister and by his son Jeff Julien.
Don is survived by his wife; Leta Joe Ann Julien, six children; Tony Michael Julien, Ronald Rayner Julien, Lawrence Edward Julien, Leah Dawn Hoffmann and husband Rodney, Owen Christopher Julien and Catherine Lorraine Ray Collier and husband Raymond, one sister; Karen Cecilia Conklin, eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family of Don Julien entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
