Deryl "Rick" Janssen

Deryl Richard “Rick” Janssen, age 65, of Skiatook went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at his Skiatook residence.

Rick was born October 29, 1956 in Borger, Texas to Russell Joseph and Joyce Lee (Miller) Janssen. He grew up and received his education in Skiatook and graduated Skiatook High School in 1974. He also attended classes at Tulsa Tech and Tulsa Welding School. Rick was a member of the United States Marines from 1973 until 1977. Rick married Anita Kay Popejoy on April 29, 1989 in Skiatook where they made their home since that time. He was an iron worker and a Boilermaker and a member of the Boilermakers Local Union #592 for 32 years. Rick enjoyed watching television, watching college football, especially OSU, and spending time with family and friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his father Russell, grandpa: Rusty Janssen, and father-in-law: Popejoy.

Rick is survived by his wife Anita, son: Russell Janssen, mother: Joyce Irving, sister: Lisa Janssen, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family of Rick Janssen entrusted the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home with his care and services.
