Denver Amond McCoy
Funeral services for Denver Amond McCoy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Brewer, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Denver Amond McCoy, age 92, of Oklahoma City and former Tulsa resident, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital South in Oklahoma City.
Denver was born November 21, 1921 in Sperry, Oklahoma to Ernest and Goldie (Dale) McCoy. He grew up and received his education in Tulsa. Denver married Lucille Rose Valentineand made their home in several different locations due to him being in the United States Air Force. Denver retired from United States Air Force in 1963. Then they made their home in Tulsa where he was employed with American Airlines as an aircraft mechanic retiring 1984. Denver liked metal detecting and was also a member of the Indian Territory Treasurer Hunters Club.
Denver was preceded in death by his mother and father, wife Lucille, two brothers and by one sister.
Denver is survived by his eight children; Timothy McCoy of Las Vegas, John McCoy of Oklahoma City, Nancy Walker of Conroe, TX, Patrick McCoy of St. Charles, MO, Brett McCoy of Tulsa, Laura Holden of Skiatook, Joseph McCoy of Las Vegas and Michael McCoy of Tulsa, thirty grandchildren, forty five great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music selections will be performed by Bob Brewer.
Casket escorts will be; Timothy McCoy, John McCoy, Patrick McCoy, Joseph McCoy, Brett McCoy, Michael McCoy and Terry Jones.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
