Private Family home service and graveside services were held for David William Shehi on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Osage Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Dianna Izquierdo, officiating. Interment followed in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home. A City wide Memorial service is scheduled for Thursday June 5, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
David William Shehi, age 91, of Skiatook, died at 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014 at his Skiatook residence.
David was born June 5, 1922 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Merrit Franklin and Edith Claire (Wells) Shehi. David grew up and received his education in Bristow graduating from high school in 1937. David entered into the United States Army in 1942 and received his honorable discharge in 1945. David married Billie Doris McDaniel on February 26, 1946 in Tulsa and made their home in Stillwater. David attended Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Physical Science and later received his Masters Degree in School Administration. In 1950 David and Billie moved to Skiatook where David was employed with Skiatook Public Schools where he was a High School Science Teacher and retired in 1984. David was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples Of Christ) and was past Grand Master of the Skiatook Masonic Lodge. David liked fishing, telling stories, traveling with his wife and was a master carpenter.
David was preceded in death by his mother and father and by one daughter.
David is survived by his wife; Billie of the home, two sons; Jimmie Shehi of Tahlequah and Mike Shehi of Skiatook, one brother Jimmy Richard Shehi of Springfield, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends.
