Danny Joe Maltby, age 55, of Avant, passed away at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at his Avant residence.

Danny was born August 11, 1961 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Jack and Betty (Brown) Maltby. He grew up and received his education in Avant. Danny married Ladonna Darlene Russell on April 4, 1982 in Kansas making their home in Avant. Danny was employed as an oilfield worker and had previously done carpentry work. Danny liked sports, raising game chickens and bull dogs.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers and by one sister.

Danny is survived by his wife Ladonna of the home, four sons: Mark Arthur Holdeman, Joseph Daniel, Robert Allen (Bobby) and Donnie Ray Maltby, three sisters: Tammy Cornett, Betty King and Jennifer Russell, two brothers: Kevin Landis and Tommy Switzner, six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Honorary casket escorts are: Donnie Russell, Scott Brown, Jerod Greenleaf, Tommy Switzner, Danny Catlett and Dale Eastwood.

The family of Danny Joe Maltby entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
