Danny Jones

Harvey Daniel Jones Jr., known as Danny to his friends and family, passed away on May 8th, 2024, in Hominy, Oklahoma, at the age of 72. Born on May 2, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Danny was a proud graduate of Skiatook High School, class of 1970.

Danny loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing was something he had been doing since he was a little boy. So much of his life was spent on the lake, in a deer stand, or out hunting squirrels. Noodling was one of his favorite pastimes. He impressed his friends and family when he brought home a 68 pound catfish that he caught with his bare hands. Of all the giant catfish that he caught noodling, nothing compared to how proud he was to watch his grandson noodle his first fish. Whether it was helping his grandkids shoot their first squirrel or noodle their first catfish, he was always sharing his knowledge and love for the outdoors with his family.

Many people know Danny as a very ornery, tough, fun guy to be around, but nobody loved his family more than Danny. Whether it was hunting and fishing with his family and friends or taking care of his mom, Danny was there.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Harvey Jones Sr.

Danny is survived by his mother, Betty Jones, his children, Christie Billups, Rick Jones, and Jason Jones, and his sisters, Lee Ann Butler, Dee Dee Jones, and Stacy Rozell, twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and host of relatives and friends.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during the time.
