Funeral services for Clarence Pippin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Skiatook Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Mitch Leonard officiating.
Clarence Pippin, age 94, of Skiatook, passed away at 9:24 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2018 at the Bailey Medical Center in Owasso.
Clarence was born January 10, 1924 in Hamlin County, Texas to Henry Lewis and Martha Jane (Goines) Pippin. He grew up and received his education in Texas. Clarence entered into the United States Army March 4, 1943 and received his honorable discharge on December 10, 1945. Clarence married Maxine Dorothy Oxford in 1942. She preceded him in death in 2006. In 2007 he married Patsy Baker Sandridge making their home in Skiatook. Clarence was a lineman for OG & E, he was a radio repairman in the army, and he also worked for Abe Lincoln Construction. Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing and making fishing jigs, jewelry making, camping, dancing. He was a gunsmith, electrician, and carpenter and he loved to sing and play guitar at church.
Clarence was preceded in death by his father and mother: Henry and Martha, wife: Maxine, brother: John sisters: Edith Green, and Madelyn Jones, and half sister: Loraine Oxford.
Clarence is survived by his wife: Patsy, son: Clarence Pippin Jr., 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be: “Family Bible Church”, “Old Rugged Cross”, “I Saw A Man”, “Wings Of A Dove”, “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, “God Bless America”.
The family of Clarence Pippin entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
