Cherokee Lahoma (Miller) Watson

Cherokee (Cherry) Lahoma Watson was born Februay 5, 1932, in Stilwell Oklahoma.  She departed this life March 8, 2020 in Tulsa Oklahoma at the age of 88 years.

On July 31st, 1949, she married Anderson Brady Watson in Pawhuska Oklahoma and he preceded her in death May 27th, 1988.  She is also preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Minnie Miller, her brother Mose Miller and sister Lucille Braun, her granddaughter Jamie Lynn Russell and great granddaughter Chrissy Michelle Glover.

Cherry grew up in Tahlequah and graduated from Sequoyah Vocational School in 1949.  She worked at St. John’s Hospital as a nurse-aid in the OB nursery and then later as a home health nurse and a Skiatook school cafeteria worker.

She was an original member of Ki-he-kah-Steh Pow-Wow Club in Skiatook.  Her love for music and dance kept her busy, she loved to travel, and surrounded herself with friends and family at all times.

Cherry is survived by children Brady & wife Becki, Mike & wife Nina, Yvonne, Valerie;  grandchildren Michelle & husband Steve, Aimee &husband Brian, Brandon & wife April, Jeremy & wife Becky, Brady & wife Kim, Cody, Cherry, Lauren & husband Kevin, Andy, and Mikey II; great-grandchildren Maggie & Riley, Sierra, Hayleigh, Piper, Madison,  Morgan, Cale, Kiley, Jayden, Alyson, Zac, Alex, Tyler, Watson, Shiloh, Andrew, Cooper, Jaxson, Ben, Jacob, Crystal, Jamie Chase, and Lincoln; great-great grandchildren Raegan and Gentry.  Also, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
