Memorial services for Cecilia Marie Purdy will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Harper, officiating. Private family interment will be held in the Oakhaven Memorial Gardens in Claremore under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Cecilia Marie Purdy, age 70., of Claremore, died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Skiatook Nursing Home.

Cecilia was born January 7, 1944 in Lindsey, California to Cecil and Margie (Mason) Davenport. She grew up and received her education in Tulsa graduating from Webster High School in Tulsa in 1962. Cecilia Married Billy Joe Purdy on September 17, 1965 in West Tulsa making their home in Claremore. Cecilia was employed with Zebco, Wal-Mart and Best Jet. Cecilia liked to sew, crochet, loved watching NASCAR and fishing.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Cecilia is survived by her husband Billy Joe Purdy of the home, two children; Patsy Turner of Skiatook and James Purdy also of Skiatook, four brothers; Kenneth Cross of Alabama, George Cross of Hominy, Steve Cross of Tulsa and Joe Cross of Muskogee, four sisters; Shirley Shanks of Claremore, June Pettit of Mounds, Lois Riddle of Sand Springs and Marcie Cox of Las Vegas, NV, six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services will be; “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace”.
