Carol Elizebeth Hunter
Funeral services for Carol E. Hunter will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Heath Tucker, officiating. Private entombment will follow in the Floral Haven Cemetery Mausoleum in Broken Arrow under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Carol E. Hunter, age 102, of Skiatook, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Skiatook Nursing Home.
Carol was born December 25, 1913 in Firstview, Colorado to George and Helen (Thompson) Hoerner. She grew up and received her education in Manhattan, Kansas graduating from high school in 1931. Carol married Donald Burton Hunter in 1935 in Manhattan, Kansas where they made their home before moving to Wichita, Kansas, California and making her home in Oklahoma for the past 20 years. Carol was employed with the State of California Department of Transportation where she retired from. Carol liked traveling and liked to travel by Greyhound bus, loved to make chili and applesauce.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother and father, three brothers, three sisters and by her daughter: Donna Carol Hunter.
Carol is survived by her son: Larry Hunter, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be: “Amazing Grace” and “Oh When The Saints Come Marching In”.
In Lieu of flowers those who wish to contribute in the memory of Carol E. Hunter may do so to the First Baptist Church of Skiatook.
