Carla Ann Werner

August 23, 1948 — January 17, 2024

Skiatook

Carla Ann Werner was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Her death was due to a spontaneous brain bleed of unknown origin. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family.

Carla was born on August 23, 1948, to Roy and Nelda Greenwood, lifelong residents of Skiatook, Oklahoma. Carla was valedictorian of her graduating class at Skiatook High School. Upon graduation, she studied at Southwestern Oklahoma State University before completing her bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Wichita State University and becoming manager of a hospital chemistry laboratory.

Carla owned three businesses: two sterling silver jewelry stores, Silver Nugget and Silver Oasis, and a handbag store, Fashion First. She was a gifted saleswoman and business owner who loved providing consumers with high-quality goods and experiences while showing compassion for her employees. In her free time, Carla enjoyed traveling, photography, and being with family.

In April 1997, Carla was married to Jack Werner. It was a marriage made in heaven. In their 26 years together, Carla and Jack faced life’s challenges together without conflict, a relationship free of even the typical disagreements between husband and wife. Their life was filled with love, laughs, faith, and family.

Carla was preceded in death by her mother, Nelda Mae Greenwood, and her two sisters, Margaret Elizabeth “Beth” Connor and Pamela Sue “Penny” Landers. She is survived by her father, Roy Greenwood, husband John “Jack” Werner, son and daughter-in-law Joel and Stacy Arrington, and two grandchildren Haley and Corbin Arrington.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift to the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children would be appreciated by the family.
