Carl Wayne Downing

Carl Wayne Downing, age 57, of Skiatook went to be with his Lord and Savior at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Tulsa.

Wayne was born February 26, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jimmie Lewis and Reba Lee (Copeland) Downing. Wayne grew up and received his education in Skiatook where he graduated in 1984. Wayne was employed with Bergen Brunswick Drug where he was a warehouse manager and was transferred to Colorado. Wayne moved back to Skiatook and was employed with Asbury United Methodist Church. Wayne’s last job before having a stroke was with Pepsi. Wayne loved racecars, loved to drive them, he loved horses and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and family.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie, and Reba Downing.

Wayne is survived by his three siblings; Jimmie Downing, Paul Downing and Maryetta Rainbolt, nieces and nephews; Chasity Bagwell, Stacey Downing Zein, Natalie Turnbough, Matthew Downing, Emily Downing, Andrew Downing, Kasey Haberman, Chad Rainbolt and Chase Rainbolt, great nieces and nephew, Keeley Scullawl, Kallie Downing, Ariana Downing and Jeremy Ballard and a host of other relatives and friends.

The music for the services will be, “Outskirts of Heaven” and Stroll Over Heaven”. The video music will be, “Cowgirls Don’t Cry”.

The pallbearers will be Vern Dickson, Willie Dickson, Dakota Schaffer, Matthew Downing, Alan Barnes and Terry Jett. The Honorary pallbearer is Terry O’Brien.

The family of Carl Wayne Downing entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
