Bradley Prather Obituary
Bradley Dwaine Prather 48, of Skiatook passed away Thursday, January
12th, 2023. He was born July 4th, 1974 at St. Francis Hospital in
Tulsa to Gayle Dwaine and Melvina Claudine (Perrier) Prather. Brad
graduated from Hominy High School with the class of 1992. He attended
NEO A&M for a semester and participated with the rodeo team there. He
later worked at Star Lake Cattle Company being hired after Sherri
assured her dad there would be no conflict there. Four years later
Sherri and Brad were married on September 16th, 2000. Brad and Sherri
welcomed Sadie Elaine in 2005. In 2013 Brad was able to concentrate on
competing at a professional level and was just short of making the
National Finals Steer Roping. Brad went to work for the Drummond
Ranch, Hominy, where he loved the cowboy way of life. He always told
Sadie, “Make sure you choose something you like to do when choosing a
profession because then it will not feel like you are going to work.”
Brad was always the life of the party, he lived life to the fullest.
He enjoyed hunting and roping but most of all he enjoyed his time
spent in and out of the arena with Sherri and Sadie.
Brad was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Opal Smith
Prather and George Everts Prather; his maternal grandparents Berniece
Thayer Perrier and James R. Perrier.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri Elaine (Soules) Prather and
daughter Sadie Elaine Prather; Mother and Father Gayle and Melvina
Prather; Mother-in-law Joyce Hudson and Father in law Montie Soules
