Memorial services for Bobby Jack Ryan will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Nielsen, officiating. Memorial services and cremation are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Bobby Jack Ryan, age 82, of Skiatook died 3:32 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Skiatook Nursing Center.
Bobby was born December 7, 1931 in Bowie, Texas to Jack and Mary Alice (Barnes) Ryan. Bobby grew up in Bowie, Texas graduating Bowie high school in 1950. Bobby served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Boxer. After his Honorable discharge from the Navy he attended Central State College in Edmond, Ok graduating in 1957. He married Mary Ann Bennett in 1956 and the happy couple made their home in Skiatook, where he began his teaching career. Bobby taught Business Education and coached the Skiatook Tennis team. Bobby served on the Skiatook Board of Trustees twelve years and was a member of Tulsa County Park Board many years. He loved to play tennis and golf, and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 58 years, one son James Ryan, and daughter Jessie Ryan, three granddaughters; Krista Lyon, Rachael Knox, Darra Evans and seven great grandchildren, one sister Colleen Fogle, and a host other relatives and friends.
