Funeral services for Billie Doris (McDaniel) Shehi will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the First Christian Church (Disciples Of Christ) with Revs. Dianna Izquierdo and Dale Nielsen officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Billie Doris (McDaniel) Shehi was born Nov 29, 1926 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Dewey and Grace McDaniel.
Billie went to be with her beloved husband, David, and Jesus in heaven at 2:10 Sunday, September 7, 2014.
Billie and David married on February 26, 1946. They moved to Skiatook, Oklahoma in September of 1950. Later that year they became members of First Christian Church, Skiatook.
Through the years Billie served the Church as Sunday school teacher, Youth Director, C.W.F. President, and Choir member. She also served as a Deacon and Elder of the Church. She then became Elder Emeritus, she held this until her death.
Billie served as the community Branch Librarian in the Tulsa City-County Library System from 1962 until her retirement in 1988.  She served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Skiatook Museum for 19 years (1976-95), and as secretary of the board for 10 years (1976-86).
Billie also served many years in PEO, Chapter A.G. Skiatook, Oklahoma.
Billie had two very important and favorite hobbies playing the piano and painting pictures of landscapes and flowers.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Grace McDaniel, Daughter, Cathy Sue Shehi, who died in infancy, husband David Shehi, sisters, Joyce Hatmaker and Sparline Moreu, their husbands, Lionel Moreu and John Hatmaker, also sisters Minnie Mauldin and husband Howard, and Judy Byrns. Billie is survived by Jim Shehi and wife Joyce of Tahlequah and son Mike of the home. She is also survived by a brother Jim McDaniel and brother-in-law Louis Byrns, and Jim and Darlene Shehi, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are: Brian Eller, David Patrick, Brian Stumpf, Philip Hudson, David Clabaugh, Brandon Hurd, Archie White and Jesse Simms.
Honorary Pallbearers are:  Jim Patrick, Percy Moreau, Fred Whisenant, Rita Patrick, Yauri Stumpf and Kaylyn Stumpf.
Flowers or Contributions to the American Diabetes Association or The Skiatook Museum, Skiatook Ok.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
