Betty Jean Whittier, a cherished special education teacher, beloved family member, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Born in Ohio on the final day of 1955, Betty's life was one marked by dedication, warmth, and the joy she brought to countless lives. Betty was the treasured daughter of William and Eleanor Schlobohm. In Cleveland Ohio, she grew up and completed her education, graduating from high school with a sense of purpose that would define her entire career. She furthered her passion for education by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in education from Rivière College, preparing her for a rewarding life shaping young minds.Throughout her career, Betty dedicated herself to the field of special education, teaching at Mt. Hope, in Nashua, New Hampshire. On a beautiful winter day, December 18, 1988, Betty married the love of her life, Jeremiah F. Whittier, in Queen Creek, Arizona. Together, they began a new chapter and later moved to Skiatook in the year 2000, where they would plant roots and enjoy many happy years. Her patience, kindness, and devotion to her church and the VFW touched the lives of all around her. She was not just a teacher, but a beacon of hope and a source of unwavering support for those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Betty's memory will be lovingly cherished by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her adoring daughter, Jennifer Schlobohm, and her treasured grandchildren, Sage Fulton and Angela Robinson, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. Her brother and sister, Billy Schlobohm and Pat Schertz, will remember her as the compass of their family, always guiding and encouraging. Betty's spirit will also be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends, whose lives she touched with her generous heart and spirited laughter.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eleanor Schlobohm, her dear husband, Jeremiah, and her brother, Bobby Schlobohm.
