Betty Louise (Hart) Phipps
Funeral services for Betty Louise Phipps will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Vera Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Vera with Rev. Jim Rowe, officiating. Interment will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Betty Louise Phipps, age 85, of Turley, died at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 in the Cimarron Point Care Center in Manford.
Betty was born June 13, 1929 in Picher, Oklahoma to Floyd E. and Jessie Opal (Brewer) Hart. Betty was raised in Osbourne, Idaho and graduated in 1946. Betty married her high school sweetheart Ronald Smith. They traveled the world went to Alaska, Connes, France then Ronald went to work on a pipeline which took then to Ankara, Turkey, Nobel, Missouri where they lived for 3 years, moved to Tulsa/Turley area she became a pilot in Juneau, Alaska in 1953. Betty was a homemaker, Master of Shorthand and a legal secretary for attorneys. Betty loved to garden, taking kids to the drive in to scary movies, very artistic, paint, sculpt, make ceramic lamps, loved to read, and loved her grand kids.
Betty was preceded by her mother and father, daughter; Ronna Lou Burnett.
Betty is survived by her two children; Eugene Smith Sr., and Cherri Lynn “Sugar” Johnson, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services: “In The Arms Of An Angel”, “On The Wings Of A Snow White Dove” and “Amazing Grace”.
Casket escorts are: Larry Johnson, Zachary Smith, Eugene Smith Jr., Eugene Smith Sr., Shannon Smith and Steven Burks.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
