Betty Joline “Betty Jo” Deason
Funeral services for Betty Jo Deason will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Nielsen, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Betty Jo Deason, age 81, of Skiatook, died at 10:18 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the North County Senior Living in Collinsville.
Betty Jo was born March 10, 1933 in Mineral Springs, Missouri to Jesse and Mildred (Taylor) Horner. She grew up and received her education in Tulsa graduating from Will Rogers High School in 1951. Betty Jo married Edward Calvin Deason on September 8, 1951 in Tulsa making their home in Skiatook since 1968. Betty jo was a secretary for Peterson Refrigeration, Sparkman’s and Freeman’s Feed Store, Town of Skiatook and Electric Motor Service. Betty Jo liked to travel, read books, cook, decorate and be involved with the family functions. Betty Jo was a member of the Golden Hill Baptist Church and had attended Immanuel Baptist Church and the Presbyterian Church.
Betty Jo was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Betty Jo is survived by her husband: Edward “Calvin” Deason of the home, two children: Doug Deason and wife Marisa of Tulsa and Joyce Deason of Skiatook, one sister: Shirley Eastham, two grandchildren five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be: “It Is Well With My Soul” and “Beulah Land” performed by Karon Roberts and Sharon Harper.
Honorary casket escorts will be: Will Thomas, Ralph Fowler, David Deason, Jimmy Deason, Ronnie Peters and Kelby Deason.
Funeral services and cremation are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
