Betty Jean (Sains) Allen
Betty Jean (Sains) Allen, age 91, of Avant went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, April 15, 2021 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2021 at the Lighthouse Family Worship Center with Rev. Barry Gott officiating, Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Betty was born August 13, 1929 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to William Edward and Ruth Violet (Reddell) Sains. Betty grew up and received her education in Avant where she graduated from Avant High School in 1948. She married William R. “Bill” Allen on January 9, 1953 in Bartlesville and they made their home in Avant. She was employed with Bell Telephone in accounting and was also employed with City of Avant, Skiatook Nursing Home, and Avant Sr. Citizens. She was a member of the Avant United Methodist Church where she was the Secretary of Treasure. Betty enjoyed cooking, bowling, puzzles, and in her younger years she played softball. She mostly loved spending time with her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father: Ruth and William, husband: Bill, brother: Edward Sain, sister: Beatrice Gosney, daughter: Cherry Bankston, and great-granddaughter: Billie Jo Smith.
Betty is survived by her children: Debrah Firkus, Cheryl Smith, Ricky Allen, Lori Kiley, David Allen, and Charles Allen, seventeen grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be: Brandon Firkus, Gary Bankston, Dustin Cornett, Willie Smith, Matt Allen, Kenny Smith, Ky Allen, Ethan Allen, and Eli Allen.
The family of Betty Allen entrusted her care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Avant United Methodist Church building fund in memory of Betty Allen. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 25 Avant, Ok 74001
