Funeral services for Benjamin Edgar “ED” Davis will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Chronister, officiating. Interment followed in the Osage Gardens Cemetery where full Military Honors accorded Mr. Davis by the 5th District Rifle Squad.
Benjamin Edgar “ED” Davis, age 88, of Skiatook, died at 3:30 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 in the Claremore Veterans Center in Claremore.
Ed was born March 16, 1924 in Ralston, Oklahoma to James Russell and Jennie Edith Dorothy Victoria (Terry) Davis. Ed grew up and received his education in Hominy graduating from high school in 1942.Ed entered into the United States Army on April 28, 1944 and received his honorable discharge on April 13, 1946. Ed married Mary Louise Burkhart on October 7, 1945 in Hominy and moved to Skiatook where they made their home. Ed was employed with Dow in the early 1950’s and retired in 1982 where he was a chemical engineer. Ed liked hanging out at the donut shop, Wal-Mart and working outdoors.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother and father, two sisters, and by three brothers.
Ed is survived by his three children; Vicki Farr and husband Marshall of Catoosa, Ross Davis and wife Linda of Broken Arrow and Blake Davis and wife Jodi of Skiatook, six grandchildren; Traci Farr, Brandon Davis, Matt Davis, Blake Davis, Ashley Massey and Chance Davis, six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Casket escorts for the services are; Brandon Davis, Matt Davis, Blake Davis, Chance Davis, Brady Morgan and Jeff Medlock.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
