Funeral services for Barbara Young will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Church of Christ at 2325 South 129th East Avenue in Tulsa with Dwight Hendrickson officiating. Interment will follow in the Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Barbara Young, age 70, of Skiatook passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in Skiatook.

Barbara was born February 21, 1948 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Martin Pat Norwood Jr and Rozella Mae Cottingham. Barbara grew up and received her education in Tulsa graduating from Nathan Hale High School in 1966. Barbara married Ronald Young on January 28, 1967 in Kleene, Texas making their home in Skiatook since 1972. Barbara was a homemaker. Barbara enjoyed baking, sewing and loving those around her. She was active in Girl Scouts and boy Scouts. Her proudest accomplishments and title was Mom and Nana.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father: Martin Pat Norwood Jr., husband: Ronald Young, 1 brother: Danny Norwood, 2 grandchildren: Lily Grace Young and Ethan Patrick Young.

Barbara is survived by her mother: Rozella, children: Tammy Ward and husband Rick and Patrick Young and wife Julie, 2 brothers: Bill Norwood and Charles Norwood, 4 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services will be: “Amazing Grace” and “Take My Hand Precious Lord”

Pallbearers will be: Brian Young, Bubba Floris, Jason Mead, Brad Hollis, Chris Payne and Jerry Brown.

The family of Barbara Young entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
