AUDY LEE THOMPSON
Funeral services for Audy Lee Thompson will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Chronister and Bill Zodrow, officiating. Interment followed in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral home.
Audy Lee Thompson, age 87, of Skiatook, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at his Skiatook residence.
Audy was born May 28, 1925 in Gilbert, Arkansas to Lee Rosevelt and Minnie Lee (Delk) Thompson. Audy grew up and received his education in Wildhorse where he graduated in 1942. Audy entered into the United States Army on October 2, 1943 and received his honorable discharge on October 1, 1946. He married Dorothy Jean Vaughn on June 17, 1949 in Skiatook and made their home in Dallas from 1969 to 1984 moving back to Skiatook where they have made their home since that time. He was employed with Sinclair Oil Company where he worked in Transportation and was a Buyer in the early 1960’s retiring in 1984. Audy enjoyed fishing and pestering his nieces and nephews. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, American Legion and Company L 126 Infantry 32nd Division.
Audy was preceded in death by his mother and father and two sisters: Juanita and Betty.
Audy is survived by his wife; Dorothy of the home, brother: Bradley Gene Thompson and wife Lee of Skiatook; nieces and nephews: Tony Thompson and wife Kendra and their children Dylan and Ryan Thompson and Kassi and Josey Branch; Terry Thompson and his children Terrance, Devon, Cale and Brady; Carol Maggard and son Jeffrey Gray, Lynda Walls and husband Martin, Gary Yarbrough and wife Noonie and children Bettsy and Logan.
Music for the service was: “Amazing Grace” “How Great Thou Art” and “In The Garden”. Music for the service was performed by; Matt Neighbors.
Casket escorts for the service were: Jeffery Gray, Terrance Thompson, Cale Thompson, Logan Yarbrough, Dylan Thompson, Brady Thompson and Ryan Thompson.
