Arthur LeRoy “Art” Burdette Sr.
Funeral services for Art Burdette will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor’s Mitch Leonard and Charles Brazeal, officiating. Interment will follow in the Ramona Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Art Burdette, age 89, of Skiatook, died at 4:59 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa.
Art was born February 22, 1925 in Turley, Oklahoma to Arthur Paul and Sarah Myrtle (Palmer) Burdette. Art grew up and received his education in Skiatook graduating with the class of 1942. Art married Latha Inez Morgan on June 17, 1944 in Skiatook. Art was employed on pipelines moving to thirty states, but considered Skiatook as their home. Art liked gardening, woodworking and liked listening to country music going to the Skiatook Auction and Highway 20 diner enjoying the live music. Art was a member of the Skiatook Free Will Baptist Church.
Art was preceded in death by his mother and father and by one granddaughter; Kandi Williamson.
Art is survived by his wife; Latha of the home, four children; Art Burdette Jr. and wife Debi of Renton, Washington, Goldie Williamson and husband Robert of Grand Lake, Nylene Wiese of the home and Jeff Burdette and wife Pam of Skiatook, one sister Waneeka Stout of Skiatook, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services: “One Day At A Time” by Clarence and Willie Ashlock, “In The Garden” and The Last Waltz” by Hayden Bramlett and Charles Brazeal.
Casket escorts are: Danny Hicks, Larry Shade, Joe Landis, Wayne White Eyes, Carl Collins and Fred Leonard.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
