Owasso

Alice Faye Lerch, known lovingly as Ali to friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, at the St. John Medical Center in Owasso, Oklahoma. Born on October 11, 1957, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Eugene and Barbara ((Archer) Carl, Alice's journey through life was one marked by joy, music, and the love of a close-knit family.

Alice's early years were spent in Skiatook, where her vibrant spirit was nurtured amidst the warmth of her parents, Eugene and Barbara Carl, and her siblings. Her academic journey saw her graduating from Skiatook High School in 1975, followed by the successful pursuit of a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. Education was a cornerstone of Alice's life, providing a foundation for her future endeavors. The year 2001 was a significant one for Alice as she united in marriage with the love of her life, Michael Sterling Lerch, on October 8, in Bentonville, Arkansas. The couple settled down in Owasso, where they built a life together filled with love and mutual respect.  Professionally, Alice dedicated 20 fruitful years to the Army Corp of Engineers in Tulsa. Her commitment to her work was evident in the excellence with which she performed her duties. Later, she channeled her expertise and people skills into a successful career as a real estate agent for Chinowth & Cohen Realtors in Owasso. Her professional accomplishments were a testament to her intelligence, diligence, and charisma. Alice's passion for music was a defining aspect of her life. Her talent led her to the prestigious stages of Nashville, where she sang with the same passion that she lived her life. Her voice, imbued with warmth and strength, was recorded several times, leaving a legacy of her musical gift.

While her achievements were many, Alice's heart was always with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Barbara Carl, her sister Mary Fritz, and her brother Robert Carl.

Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her devoted husband, Mike Lerch, her adoring stepchildren, Michelle and Mitchell, her caring sisters, Patty Phillips and Phyllis Lockhart, and her brother, James Carl, along with his wife LaWana. Alice's spirit will also live on through the lives of her numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness, laughter, and generosity.

Alice's life was a reflection of her belief in the beauty of family, the joy of music, and the importance of community. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt. Yet, the melodies she shared and the love she gave will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind. As we bid farewell to Alice Faye Lerch, we celebrate a life lived with grace, courage, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Her legacy is one of love, artistry, and the simple yet profound impact of a life well-lived. Alice's journey through this world was a melody of compassion and joy, and though the song has ended, the memory of its beautiful tune will endure forever.
