Albert Dewayne Wood

Albert DeWayne Wood, age 88, of Skiatook went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, December 31, 2021 at his Skiatook residence.

Albert was born September 7, 1933 in Natura, Oklahoma to Ross L. and Bessie Zell (Hendrix) Wood. Albert grew up and received his education in Avant where he graduated high school in 1951. Albert entered into the United States Army on May 16, 1957 and received his honorable discharge on May 16, 1959 where he was Private First Class. Albert married Linda Joyce Okerson on May 23, 1958 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Albert was a retired oilfield worker and cowboy.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents Ross and Bessie Wood and by three brothers; Winford Wood, Jimmy Wood and Earl Wood.

Albert is survived by his wife; Linda of the home, children; Sherry Lynn Garrison and husband Randy, Kim Casillas and husband Steve, Polly Wiese and husband David, Lee Ann Rhodes and husband Tom and Earl DeWayne Wood and wife Jennifer, twenty-one grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be; Justin Johnson, Patrick Casillas, Ricky Casillas, Mouse Casillas, Clint Osburn and Gary “Bub” Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be; Randy Garrison, Tom Rhodes, Bud Wilson, Steve Casillas, David Wiese, Clint Osburn, Pete Anderson and Harlan Collier.

Music for the service will be; “Take My Hand Precious Lord” and “Cattle Call”.

The family of Albert DeWayne Wood entrusted the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home with his care and services.
