Funeral services for Abbie Freese will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Skiatook Assembly Of God Church with Pastor Monte Lovvorn, Pastor Eddie McElhannon and Pastor Aaron White, officiating. Private family interment will take place in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Abbie Freese, age 86, of Skiatook, took the express flight from earth on, April 1, 2017 at the North County Senior Living Center in Collinsville and landed softly on heaven’s shore.

Abbie was born June 9, 1930 in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Carl and Mary (Buck) Sprugeon. In 1962 Abbie met and married Henry Freese in Bartlesville. Abbie was employed with City Service in Bartlesville for 10 years prior to moving to Muskogee in 1967. In Muskogee she worked as a credit manager for 7 years at Calhoun’s Department Store which later became Dillard’s. abbie and her husband started their own wedding and chapel service in Muskogee. Abbie was employed with Bebb’s Flowers for 21 years. Abbie was active in her church, Evangel Assembly of God Church helping in the annual Christmas Give Away program and was also involved in the Gospel Rescue Mission Auxiliary for several years. Abbie was also a member of the Skiatook Assembly Of God Church. Abbie had also been employed with Felecia’s Flowers from February 2003 through 2007.

Abbie was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband Henry, her son: W.C. McIlvain, and sister: Virginia Ford.

Abbie is survived by her Step-son:  Ernie Freese  and his daughter: Kyrsta Bellue, her granddaughter: Savannah Dacus, grandson Coleman McIlvain, niece Karla Winslow, 11 great grandchildren, several close cousins and a host of friends.

Music for the service will be: Good By World Good By, Bird With A Broken Wing and Tulsa Time.

Casket escorts for the service will be: Jerry Thomas, Kevin Sparks, Larry Keener, Sam Carlile, Ed Spurgeon, Chris Weeds and Paul Truax.
