Mildred Inez (Brown) Waterman

Mildred Inez Waterman, age 88, of Avant went to be with her Lord and Savior at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at her Avant residence.

A visitation for Mildred Inez Waterman will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2024, with the family present to receive friends at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mildred will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Avant with Pastor Tim Henson and Pastor Rick Casillas officiating. Internment will follow in the Avant Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Millie was born December 16, 1935 in Nicut, Oklahoma in Sequoyah County to Charles and Ruey (Brown) Phelps. Millie grew up and received her education in Tulsa where she attended Central High School. Millie married Sidney Lee Waterman making their home in Avant. Millie was employed with Bank of Oklahoma where she was a data processor. Millie loved crocheting, quilting, reading, working puzzles and loved horses. Millie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Avant.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruey Phelps, husband, Sidney, three brothers, one sister, one grandson Adam Allred and by one great-great-grandson, Jax.

Millie is survived by her three children, Patricia Allred and husband Danny, Vickie Collins, and Steve Casillas and wife Kim, one brother, Mitchell Phelps, eight grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music selections are “In The Garden”, “Because He Lives” and “Amazing Grace”.

The pallbearers are James Collins, Dakota Collins, Brad Whinery, Brandon Whinery, Patrick Casillas, and Mouse Casillas. Honorary pallbearers are Blake Jones, Clayton Casillas, Zak Wallis, Kaden Wallis, Cash Whinery and Parker Whinery.
